It's so long ago and the details are now so foggy that I'm not sure even if it really did happen.

Lol, he can watch a little vidlog of everything I do so I was glad when he actually talked with me about the porn I researched for a paper about eroticism, sexism, and... there was a third thing. It was... pretty funny because right outside that morning there were two snails doing it...
and the thing about snails is they don't even really have the kind of sophisticated ganglia you know, they just have, like a primitive of nerves kinda... like not even that smart right, and those two snails were oblivious to everything except that. Then later, I saw a pack of boys (rather young) in the library poking the screen at pictures of boobs and talking about their girlfriends on MySpace. I saw something comparative then between the two snails and those boys. I almost did a spittake.

Kata, I had to explain to my mother that 16:00 is military time for 4 in the morning and doesn't mean 16hours out of the day.

She's one of the fastest typists in this city, maybe the #2 or 3 I think and burned out 2 keyboards.
I'm serious. I can only type a fraction as fast as her when I've had coffee.

However, she... she isn't very good at math. So she didn't want to believe me. That, or I forgot to log out because it claims I was still active long after I'd turned the computer off and gotten back to math.
I think... maybe the rootikit wasn't calibrated properly.

They can keylog to see everything that I do.
Well, yes and no on the legality.
I'm under their roof and they are more-or-less stewards of the trust fund that helps pay for my education, father helped me refurbish this computer to where it was pretty fast (still good speed but a little slower with these passive intrusion programs and their logs building up... they've got like mutexes or some sort of scramblers). I tried taking it apart but it's like they say on the tin, Spectorsoft is one of the best spyware companies.

So, they don't like it but so long as I don't do anything to get in trouble with the police or anything like that I suppose they'll have to be more-or-less alright with it.
I did... help out the military kind of once, before all this sh*t started. There was the location of an unmarked base that had been leaked into public domain by accident by somebody careless and, I helped to clean that up. It was... a long time ago.
And I would not care to repeat it, but... things like that you know.

The only way to understand things like filth and vice is to look at it and be around it. Not necessarily immerse yourself in it too much though.

Those are good, they're almost like an elective and they show you how not to set yourself on fire, get bitten by animals, accidentally release plague, that sort of thing.

Back when I got my lappy when I was in the eighth grade, I couldn't get on it without one of them in the room with me. It's like they didn't trust anything I was doing. AT ALL. So I kina know the feeling.

Oh man... I got hacked yesterday.
And my parents went and put in a rootkit to surveil me.
No, not for looking at bad things so much as just they don't like me screwing around so much.

Now I get a hot off the press report of how and where I spend my time both on and offline from that pc at the end of the day.

The hacker was kind of interesting.
It... the log claimed its source was port 0.
That's crazy talk.

And whatever it was seemed only interested in trying to 'optimize' the printer, apparently they really mean that literally about 'smart' photocopier/scanner/all-in-one printer over at HP.

Months back when I read a guy's journal ranting about it I thought it was just some sort of exaggeration or an urban weblegend but that's one that was true.


It goes in, looks at how your printer and peripherals are configured.
Argh, I'm supposed to be a biologist. Maybe I should minor in computers.

I rue the day she went onto the parents of people with autism/asperger's website and thought it was a "good idea" to install a rootkit to surveil me on the advice of a WoW addicted boy's father.

Sort of ironic that she'll use forums and that's okay but when I use chatrooms that's bad. But whatever I guess.

Oh well, there are other outlets to make things.
